ZD Wines Dinner
March 21, 2019 07:00 PM until March 21, 2019 07:00 PM
with ZD’s John E. Buckey
Thursday, March 21, 7pm
The history of wine in Napa continues to be written thanks to tirelessly committed producers like ZD Wines. As one of a handful of Napa wineries to have successfully spanned the decades, they have helped shape the face of this iconic region. In 1969, aerospace engineers Norman deLeuze and Gino Zepponi and their families dove into the challenging world of winemaking with unbridled energy. The Napa Valley and California as a whole were just beginning to really develop wine credibility. There was no established worldwide following or waves of tourists to carry these fearless adventurers. Fortunately, their goal to produce world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, has more than come to fruition. With vineyard plantings on the Southern edge of Napa in the Carneros region, they found their greatness. Meanwhile, the estate, nestled along the Silverado Trail, produces iconic valley floor Cabernet Sauvignon year after year.
On March 21, we will celebrate this fantastic winery and their amazing hospitality over these past 50 years. Entertaining and enlightening us for this special night will be John E. Buckey, ZD’s National Sales Director. John has spent his entire career in the hospitality industry, as a restauranteur, retailer, distributor and winery supplier. He first met the ZD family while working at iconic Pinot Noir/Chardonnay house Hanzell Vineyards. ZD Founder's Reserve Pinot Noir is a planting of Hanzell Clone. So he’s been talking about ZD long before joining the payroll! He truly knows California wine and Carneros. We are thrilled to have him and this incredible line-up of wines for one night. This is Napa’s past, present and future all at one table. We hope you can join us!
